Clinical Engineering and IT Leadership Forum
Today, clinical engineers are being charged with extending their scope as communicators, problem solvers and experts in integrating high technology systems. With increasing frequency, they rely on and interact with their IT counterparts. The HIMSS/ACCE Clinical Engineering and IT Leadership Forum is a full-day program designed to foster the collaboration between clinical engineers and IT professionals.

Nursing Informatics Symposium
This symposium has been developed by nurse informaticists for nurses in the acute care setting: Chief Nursing Officers, Directors of Nursing and Nursing Informaticists. This year’s program focuses on collaboration across setting and disciplines to facilitate transformation of the healthcare environment. This program is co-sponsored by AMIA and ANI, a collaboration of 22 nursing informatics organizations.

Payor Symposium
Ideal for all consumers, providers, and payors (CEOs, CIOs & CFOs, physicians and healthcare IT managers), this symposium addresses the payor community’s current governance, financial, legal and technological challenges as they relate to providers and consumers.

Supply Chain Management Symposium
HIMSS is collaborating with the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) to provide a value-packed, one-day preconference symposium on healthcare supply chain technology. RHIO/HIE Symposium
Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs) are envisioned as the primary building blocks for a nationwide network to share data with the expectations of improving healthcare safety, efficiency, and the quality of care. The ultimate goal is interconnecting electronic health information networks and linking patient data across multiple healthcare settings; transform how healthcare data is delivered, positively affecting patient safety while reducing medical errors and healthcare costs. This symposium will address sustainable business models and strategies of successful RHIOs, drawing on their real world success with case studies and advice from experts.

Quality Symposium
A wide range of studies have shown that health care quality in the U.S. is not what it should be. Various initiatives in the public and private sector are under way to measure, report, and improve on the quality of health care. Through real world case studies and presentations from experts in the field, this symposium will examine the intersection between health care quality improvement and health IT, including how health IT can impact quality and patient safety, including the identification of areas in need of change and how to realize those changes.
