Keynote Speaker: Phil Bredesen is the 48th governor of the State of Tennessee
. Governor Bredesen currently co-chairs the State Alliance for e-Health, a consensus-based, executive-level body of state elected (and appointed) officials to collectively address state-level health information technology (health IT) issues and challenges to interoperable electronic health information exchange. As Governor, he took control of TennCare, the state's once troubled Medicaid-expansion program, and turned it into one of the most comprehensive state healthcare plans in the nation. Governor Bredesen is also responsible for the Cover Tennessee initiative, which provides the severely ill and uninsured with access to affordable healthcare.
